‘The Trapped’ Branding and graphics content
Crafted the full visual identity for The Trapped — an award-winning, eight-part ITV News investigative podcast exposing the human cost of Britain’s housing crisis. Families trapped in mould-infested, dangerously unfit homes are at the heart of the story — and that same creeping decay is echoed in the branding.
The centrepiece is a stark, textured logo designed to evoke the slow, suffocating spread of mould — a visual metaphor for systemic neglect. This identity extended into looping logo animations and cinematic trailers, establishing a cohesive, gritty tone across broadcast (including ITV News at Ten), social media, and podcast platforms — with national exposure via the Apple Podcasts homepage.
I also created custom textures and visual elements for the podcast’s companion website – visit thetrapped.co.uk, ensuring the brand’s unsettling atmosphere carried through every user touchpoint.
